Flint, Mich. is the latest municipality to attempt to battle low slung pants. The town's new police chief has banned low hung trousers that expose wearers' booty. "This immoral self expression goes beyond free speech," says Police Chief David Dicks, "It rises to the crime of indecent exposure." Officers will arrest people who wear their pants too low.

A school in Sweden says they were trying to prevent discrimination when they confiscated a kid's birthday invitations, because he didn't invite 2 of his classmates to his birthday party. ROOSTER ALARM CLOCK
Retiree Billy Verity's neighbors complained to the city council that he had chickens at his home. They are prohibited in the urban area. The problem stems from the early morning Rooster crowing. It ends up it'a Novelty Rooster alam clock. Billy said: "I sleep with the window open and it goes off five times before I switch it off, so it would sound realistic."

Fly tipping is the term used in England for those who dump trash illegally. Authorities thought they'd catch the scofflaws by hiding a spy camera to cath them in the act inside a black bag beside a notorious illegal dumping site. One problem. The disguise was so good that Chichester District sanitation engineers workers tossed the camera believing it was genuine trash. The council did not disclose how much the camera cost, but similar systems involving a miniature video camera cost between $14,000 & $20,000.

More than half of the dental assistants and office staff at Dr. Keith Leonard's dental office own horses, on Wednesday the crew saddled up and rode in to work. "We decided that when gas got to $4 a gallon, we would all ride in," Leonard said. 2 cyclists and ten riders met up with the group after getting a special riding permit for the ride. Leonard said the ride was a way to encourage his patients to use alternative forms of transportation.




SPORTS BRINGS OUT THE CROOKS...AND CATCHES THEM...
A 36-year-old Turkish national was wanted over fraud allegations in Germany. His enthusiasm for his tem in the Euro 2008 Soccer torunament cost him his freedom when police spotted a picture of him in a local newspaper cheering on his favorite team. A police spokesperson said: "He used to only go from home to work so as to keep a low profile but once the tournament started he said he could not resist going out to watch the games."



HOG HEAVEN IN GUINESS?
A porker nicknamed Zhu Jianqiang (Pig Strong Will) is a bit of a celebrity in China after surviving 36 days trapped under the rubble of CHina's massive earthquake. They are now submitting the story to Guiness book of world records for recognition and there are now proposals to make a movie about the pig, while the Chinese media speculates the story could mean the end of dieting because it was the pig's fat reserves that enabled it to survive.

DRIVE IN WEDDINGS
The Church of Sweden will carry out drive-in weddings lasting about seven minutes at a car rally next month in a bid to make marriage more accessible. 10 priest will officiate the nuptials at a classic car show, complete with an Elvis impersonator. "We have added a bit of a Las Vegas touch to it and put up a huge red, neon sign which reads 'Get Married' so one can see it from afar and know where to turn off."

This one is hard to believe but follow along. On Germany's Autobahn 3 cars have been pulling up to trucks on the road. One in front, one on the side and one behind out of the sight of the driver. While the first 2 cars boxed in the rolling truck the thieves jumped out of the sunroof of the trailing car, opening the back of the truck and stealing high end electronic goods. There were 5 heists before the gang was caught red handed.



THE BIRDS DID IT...
Brazilian inmates have been training carrier pigeons to smuggle in contraband that couldn't be brought in by humans. Cellphones, drugs and other prohibited items were flown in by the birds with cell phone sized pouches on their backs. The scheme was uncovered when guards noticed the birds having trouble lifting off.

Ian Down is a reporter. His passport photo was rejected because his bald head was too shiny. The clerk at the passport asked him "What's that mark" referring to the glare caused by the flash on his shiny dome. The clerk told him some countries may not accept the bright passsport. He went and had another picture and evene though there was still a bit of a glow on his head, it wasn't enough to interfer with the issuing of the document.

A DRAMATIC PROPOSAL
Gennady Zaleskiy has a little extra money so the Ukrainian tycoon hired an entire theatre company so he could star in a play and give his girlfriend a proposal she'd never forget. He arranged for his girlfriend to have a girl's night out at the play and appeared on stage in a mask. When he was to declare his love for an on stage character he instead turned to the audience and said: "No, the woman I love is called Victoria and she is in the sixth row. Will you marry me Victoria?" She said yes.




NOW GAS PRICES HAVE GONE TOO HIGH
Sisters Sadie and Pyper Vance don't drive, but high gas prices have impacted the Salt Lake City siblings. As part of a budget cutting move the Vance family decided to eliminate cable because of high gas prices, leaving the 9 and 7 year olds without their normal staple of cartoons and other shows, so they took to the streets with placards denouncing lower gas prices. The kids are getting some support for their protest: "I think it's great," said one passerby, "It's unfortunate that kids are doing it before we do."



3 YEAR OLD 911 CALL
Madelyn Eaves of Guthrie, OK. called 911 when her prgnant mother fainted. She knew the "Green, green green' song which her mother had taught her just a week before which meant to press the green button on her Blackberry summoning rescue crews. The little girl was able to direct rescuers to her home and Mom is doing fine.

What a waste of a good brew! A truck on a southern Germany roadway lost it's cargo of 200 crates of beer, leaving the suds pouring over the road. The not so hazardous spill blocked traffic for about 90 minutes. The loss to the brewery was put at $15,500.

Freddie Yauner, from London, set a Guinness World Record during the Royal College of Art graduate show. He created a toaster that popped bread 8 feet, 6 inhes into the air. The record, the first of its kind in the records book, was confirmed by Guiness. The artists used a high-pressure CO2 gas system and mechanical ram to boost his toaster's pop.




THIEF SLY AS A FOX
Police are on the look out for a purse snatcher in Basel, Switzerland. Police recieved a call from a a woman saying a fox has stolen her handbag. It had her wallet and keys in it and she wanted them to find the culprit last seen scurrying into a nearby forest. When the police arrived, they searched and found the handbag under a bush, some yardsfrom where it was taken. But there was no arrest. The foxy thief got away.

Dog owners are Britain are being shamed into picking up their dog's little presents they've left for others to step. Volunteers are paiting the poop pink. It's all part of National Poop Scoop Week. The council is providing them with bright pink dye to highlight the problem and encourage dog owners to use the trash cans placed around the Oak Tree Heath nature reserve.

Girls at West Kent College have been advised that whistling at construtcion workers constitutes harassment and is unacceptable. Female students caught harassing contractors would face disciplinary action. An email stated: "It has come to the attention of the college that some female students have been making comments to, or whistling at, the builders both whilst on site and as they walk around the campus. "Although we are sure no offence is meant, this constitutes harassment and is wholly unacceptable."



REALLY BAD ESCAPE
A pair of inmates trying to escape jail were caught after one of them fell through the ceiling into the Police Chiefs office in Alton, TX. Albert Suarez Chavez and Roman Orozco Martinez tried to escape through air conditioning ducts of the jail, but crashed through the ceiling.

A 22 year old woman came home and was on the phone talking to a friend about how she was worried about David Joe Limones. No wonder, she found him when she sat down on her couch and he emerged from a hole in the couch where he had been hiding. When officers arrived, they found Limones and the 22-year-old woman arguing on the apartment's balcony. He now faces burglary and other charges. He is being held on $20,000 bail.

Their brainstorming er thought showers were that it might be offensive to epileptics. A 17 year old Springville, UT. girl was was southbound on state Route 51 Tuesday morning. That's when her gerbil made a run for it, escaping from it's cage. The girl tried to grab to scurrying furry critter and in the process lost control of her car hitting 2 vehicles by the side of the road. One woman received a broken leg in the incident. The girl and grebil escaped unharmed.

TEX IS IN TROUBLE
The 47-foot-tall Tex Randall statue in Canyon, Texas, might lose its home because a potential out-of-state buyer reportedly wants the property where the four-ton artwork stands . The buyer doesn't want the old statue though and local residents are hoping to save the landmark.

WHAT A WASTE OF BEER
Part of I-5 in Las Vegas had to be closed yesterday because of exploding beer kegs. The driver had 278 kegs in his truck when he started hearing noises and pulled over just in time for several kegs to blow and blast the brew on the highway. Police said the carbon dioxide in the kegs
caused them to blow.

Nicolas Le Marecha asked a woman for directions on a Bucharest tube train a month ago and has been searching for her ever since. He even hired an artist to draw a picture of his brief encounter girl. Twelve-year-old Dominique Morefield said she was running her lemonade stand with a group of friends when 18-year-old Steve
Tryon came up and said “Give me your money.” He then took off, but Domonique was having none of it and took off in hot pursuit chasing to a home. GAS THEFT Officials in Burbank California are on the lookout for some thieves. They got away with a tanker load of diesel. They didn't steal the truck, but apparently backed up a tanker truck to a gas station and drained it dry. The 4,000 gallon theft was discovered when the station opened at 5am.

In Auckland, New Zealand, they have "transiT lanes" which are high capacity lanes that allow drivers to bypass traffic congestion. Vehicles are required to have at least three occupants. Some have been trying to get around those restrictions with blow-up dolls, shop mannequins and dogs dressed up as children. Some drivers have even gone as far as trying to claim the passenger was so small that police couldn't see them. The fine is arounf $150.

Two Charleston, Oregon men are in hot water after swiping a Charlie The Tuna statue as a prank. They panicked when deputies started investigating and went to their hiding place to dispose of thei "catch". But it wouldn't fit in the truck so they took a chain saw to the fishy icon. A wake is planned Saturday at the town's visitors center. The Wild Women of Charleston and the Tuna Guys will offer musical moments. The remains are to be burned and buried at the center. Mourners are invited to share stories about Charlie, and tuna recipes.

The staff also refused to sell the bottle to her brother-in-law, Philip Dover, 27, who did have ID, because they believed he would just give the bottle to Miss Birchell. "We just could not believe it. It's not as if we were going to go and sit down the park drinking it."; said Mr. Dover.



GAS WARS
Violence broke out at a gas pump in Cypress, Ca. when police say a La Palma doctor waiting in line to buy gas at the Costco warehouse store in Cypress grabbed a tire iron and confronted a motorist who cut into the line. The motorist locked himself in his car and called police. The doctor was arrested and booked for investigation of brandishing a deadly weapon in a rude, angry or threatening manner, a misdemeanor.

SERBIAN BANK ROBBER "SORRY"
Aleksandar Spasic was a bank clerk and he walked out with over $2 Million stuffed in his briefcase. He then apparently had a change of heart and after burying the cash in 6 holes in a park called police to turn himself in, waiting in a coffee shop until police arrive. He did leave a note with the loot: "I am sorry, but I had to do it," said the note he left for his boss.

Staples High School junior Sarah Friedson, walked her pony Cocoa to school last Friday on the last day of school as a prank and to protest high gas prices. Her dad, Ronald followed behind her in his car. Both were arrested after school administrators who had warned Sarah to NOT bring the pony to school called in the law. The charges breach of peace, the pony was released on it's own recognizance.

A hunter's dog helped his master by fetching his cell phone after a nasty tumble out of a tree. Albert Hoffman was severely inhured in his fall and called for his dog to get his cell phone from a backpack which she did. He then called emergency services and will recover fully.



CAREFUL WHERE YOU HIDE THAT RING
A Chinese woman passed out after her boyfriend gave her an engagement ring, not from excitement, but instead from swallowing the ring inside a piece of cake. Mr Chen, said he was inspired by romantic movies in which leading men hid rings in cakes and gave them to their girlfriends. His girlfriend Wen accepted the proposal on regaining consciousness.

WHAT'S THONG WITH THESE GUYS: UPDATE
The two men who held up a convenience store in Arvad, Colorado wearing women's thongs as masks, which didn't cover up very much, are in custody. The surveillance tape showed the two and gave a pretty good shot of their faces during the holdup. Officers report 19-year-old Joaquin Rico and 24-year-old Joseph Espinoza turned themselves in two days apart.

THEY'RE CALLING IT THE MCCHICKEN
A brown hen had taken to hanging at te Temecula McDonald's. Police were called but couldn't catch the urbanized hen. Eventually she planted herself right on the top of the drive-through window box. SHe was eventually nabbed by employees , but won;t end up as a McNugget. The McChicken has been sent to live as a pet with other chickens at the home of one of the restaurant workers.

Western Canadian police are resorting to cardboard cops to slow down traffic. The lifesize, standing cardboard cops are holding a radar gun. Apparently they are so realistic that "a tow-truck driver pulled up and started talking to it," Staff Sergeant Ralph Pauw said. Did they test the tow truck driver for DUI?

HOW NOT TO GET RID OF A BEE PROBLEM
Joshua Mullen ad poured gas on some towels the bees were swarming around in the hope that they would disperse. They did. When Mullen, walked away from the gasoline-soaked towels he was using, he heard a "whoosh" and turned around to see the shed in flames that spread to his rented home and wound up causing some $80,000 in damage. The fire chief said there were no injuries in the blaze, unless you include the bees.

Students are reading to dogs at Orchards Elementary School in Washington state. Educators believe it will help kids if they read out loud and reading to a "non-judgemental" dog is just the trick.

A MOONING INJURY
Here's one I didn't think I would have to report, but a 21 year old man was injured while mooning in Ultecht, Netherlannds. LOOK FOR THE GUY WITH THE RED PANTS
Pawn shop employees in Fort Lauderdale thought a guy in the store was asking suspicious when all of the sudden a red dye pack exploded in his pants. The man then fled, leaving behind a load of cash from a recent bank robbery. So wer're looking for a guy with red stains and watery eyes. The dye pack also packed an eye stinging punch with mace. Two guys in Arvada, CO. held up a convenience store wearing women's thong underwear on their faces as masks. Each "mask" barely covered each man's nose, mouth and chin and left the rest of his face exposed. The green and blue thong thieves did forget one thing. Their tattoos caught on the surveillance video.



BALLON POPS IN CALIFORNIA
California lawmakers have passed a ban on those helium-filled metallic party balloons. The Senate has passed the approved bill on to the state Assembly. Electric company officials say the balloons are responsible for numerous outages. The fine, $100 if caught with a metallic helium party balloon!

I FEEL REALLY GUILTY....
Here's my SIX bucks. Someone down in Texas must have been in Kenosha, WI. 21 years ago. They apparently got a $3 parkling ticket and never paid it. So now that person has. Officers found a $6 payment for the ticket, issued Jan. 20, 1987, in a drop box. The extra $3 was the late charge. All paid up, now they can park in Kenosha again.
