DEER FIGHTS BACK
Randy Goodman was hunting when he bagged a buck in the woods outside Sedalia, Missouri. Mr. Goodman was thinking of Venison steaks when seconds later the nine-point, 240-pound animal came to life. It promptly attacked it's assailant during what Randy calls "15 seconds of hell." He fired 2 more shots as the buck left the scene downing it. That's when he felt dizzy and noticed the bllod. He received seven staples in his scalp and was treated for a slight concussion and bruises.

9 year old Alec Greven from Castle Rock, CO. has written an advice book. "How to talk to girls." Alex sold his tome for $5 at a school book fair where it was the surprise bestseller. His advice to boys includes - stop showing off, go easy on the compliments and be wary of "pretty girls". "It is easy to spot pretty girls because they have big earrings, fancy dresses and all the jewellery," he writes in chapter three. "Pretty girls are like cars that need a lot of oil." Other quotes of wisdom: "The best choice for most boys is a regular girl. Remember, some pretty girls are coldhearted when it comes to boys. Don't let them get to you."

GASSED UP !
It was easy to spot a drunk driver in Reno Nevada. She was weaving, sure, but the real giveaway was the gass nozzle and 6 feet of fuek hose handing out of her gas tank. SHe was spotted by an ambulence crew who called in state troopers who pulled over the woman where she failed a roadside sobriety test.They still don't know what gas station is missing it's hose.

TRUFFLE AUCTION
Hong Kong-born casino mogul Stanley Ho is now the proud owner of a 2.2 pound truffle. He spent $200,000 for the tuber during a worldwide aution. The Italian WHite Truffle the biggest found in Italy this year, was flown first class to Macau, with an Italian chef accompanying it, for Saturday's auction after it was picked on November 21 in the central Molise region. Last year Mr. Ho who spent $300,000 on an even larger truffle.

Sec'y Of State, Condaleeza Rice played piano for Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace the other day, accompanied in her performance of Brahms by British Foreign Secretary David Miliband's wife Louise, and three members of the London Symphony Orchestra. Queen Elizabeth then gave Ms. Rice a recording of her performance. Rice is an accomplished pianist, playing since she was a child.

MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE
Almost 40 years ago someone in NJ tossed a message in a bottle into the Atlantic. Inside the Schaefer beer bottle was a note that read, "If found notify the North Haledon Fire Co. 2." Mark Ciarmello and his 3-year-old daughter found the bottle along a beach in Corolla, N.C., in October. That's about 400 miles from where it was released. He got on his cell and called the fire station. No one knows who dropped the bottle into the ocean Aug. 17, 1969 in North Haledon, NJ. Mark eben took photos of the bottle sending them to the firecrew.

The French say they need the largest condoms in Europe. 10,500 men in 25 European countries were asked to measure their manhood and enter the number into a database. The French claimed the record, while the Greek's came in last. A spokeman did not want to comment on how honest he thought the Frenchmen had been in reporting the data. The survey was aimed at educating youngsters about the importance of effective contraception.

SANTA AND THE ELVES ARE HAVING PROBLEMS
Lapland New Forestis a Christmas themed amusement park in Britain that apparently doesn't live up to it's billing. In fact a fight broke out between Santa, The Elves and a disgruntled father over the shabby theme park that costs close to $50 to get in to. Over 1300 complaints have been filed about the park which was described in a British paper as a "glorified car boot sale" with a Nativity scene on a billboard, a broken iceskating rink and huskies in a muddy field.
