A shrimp boat Captain took control when his cook went into labor 30 miles off shore. Ed Kiesel grabbed a new roll of paper towels and a first aid handbook and successfully delivered Cindy Preisel's baby boy, even though the baby's feet emerged first. "I'm no doctor, but even I knew that's not supposed to happen," Kiesel said.

Nanu Ram Jogi is 100 years old. He's also a new father to a baby girl, his 21st child and he wants more. But after his 4th wife, Saburi, who's 50 is having none of it. She's delivered 13 of his kids and is throwing in the baby producing towel. The elderly Indian farmer lives with 109 members of his extended family, including 20 grandchildren.

Russian authorities have arrested a man for bridge theft, after a bridge on a river crossing in the Ryazan region, east of Moscow came up missing. The 15 yard long bridge had been disassembled and trucked off by the man to sell for scrap metal..

INTERNET SPEEDING
A 19 year old London man has been arrested for speeding. 140 MPH on a London freeway. So did the cops radar gun the guy? Nope. He posted a video of himself breaking the sound barrier on You Tube. The car, a Ford Escort, was filmed on the A76 road in southwest Scotland. A FORD ESCORT????!! It's like throwing a nerf ball 800 feet...

REMORSEFUL THIEF
A Queensland, New Zealand couple came home to discover a smashed window and a laptop, credit cards and other valuable items missing. Then everything was returned. The thief returned the goods later in the day, along with a new basketball and two pairs of gloves bought on the stolen credit card. The robber also promised to leave cash in Glass' mailbox to pay for the smashed window when he had enough money. "I have never written truer words when I say that I wish that I had never done this to you and your family," the note read. "From the bottom of my heart I am sorry."

HOW NOT TO STEAL BEER

A South African man has been awarded $5,000 after he suffered burns while in a South African jail after he was burned on the buns while on the toilet after it bubbled and steamed on his rear end. A Danville, California man wanted to see his kid play baseball. So badly that he built his own baseball field. David Lowe spent hundreds of thousands to construct the field of dreams in this San Fransisco suburb. The 18,000 square foot facility had astr-turf, a batting cage and motorized pitching machine. One problem. No permits to build the thing. The Danville city commissioners have ordered it torn down.

American Family Insurance is offering parents some peace of mind. A video cam in their car. The camera would switch on in when there's an out-of-the-ordinary event, like swerving.

KEITH RICHARDS WANTS APOLOGIES
Richards is demanding apologies from Swedish newspapers for ripping apart the Rolling Stones show in Goteborg on August 3rd. One review suggested Richards was ``superdrunk'' on stage, and another referred to him as ``a bit confused.'' Richards had written to one of the papers saying it was a good show and the bad reviews cheapen it for for the 56,000 people who were there.

AMERICAN IDOL SONGS THEY MISSED
Ever wondered what happened to all those songs entered in the American Idol Songwriting contest? None ever made it to the radio. But they are available here: http://melodiesthatmatter.com/Welcome.html. Thirteen of those songwriters have created a CD called ``Hits They Missed -- Songs Not Fit For An Idol (Or So They Say).'' The songs were entered into the competition but didn't win. Part of the proceeds of the sale of the CD will benefit The Oakland School for the Arts in Oakland, California.

Sept. 10th Letterman will tape the show. It follows a LONG rift between Letterman and Oprah. He often joked about her and she refused to be on his show or allow him on hers.

An escaped Emu caused some excitement in the Walmart parking lot near West Bend, Wisconsin. Wal-Mart Supercenter employees used shopping carts to corral the wayward emu outside the store. A manager fed the emu grapes and apples in an attempt to calm the bird inside the makeshift enclosure.

Defense attorney Donald Lykkebak informed a court that he intends to rely on the insanity defense for former NASA astronaut Lisa Marie Nowak's trial. Nowak suffered from a laundry list of mental afflictions when she confronted her romantic rival at Orlando International Airport in February.

This robber apparently only needed 4 bucks! So the knife-wielding robber refused to take a $10 bill from his victim and instead waited while the man made change at a pizza parlor. He was captured after a short chase. The Greenburgh, NY suspect, James Mitchell, 48, was arraigned Tuesday on robbery and weapon charges.

WEDDING CRASHER THEFT
Now this is low....While Anthony and Jennifer Smith and their wedding guests were celebrating the nuptials a well dressed thief came into the crowded reception and grabbed up the envelope given to the couple as wedding presents. The cash take was about $1500.

I-PHONE HACKER
A 17 year old George Hotz of Glen Rock, New Jersey was upset that the I-PHONE could only be used with the AT&T network. SO the techie kid went to work. He spent 500 hours, about 8 hours day working on a hack to allow tApple's I-Phone to work with other providers. What's he getting for his trouble? A Nissan 350 Z and 3, 8 GB I-PHONES from a Louisville, KY cell phone distributor. HE also now has a consulting gig with CertiCell.

BUT IT'S HOLY WATER
French security officials refused to allow pilgrim passengers to board a French airliner with bottles of holy water, siting liquid security restrictions. The water, which is said to have miraculous healing powers, came from a sacred grotto where Catholics believe the Virgin Mary appeared in 1858. But the Vatican had foreseen such an eventuality and placed a small complimentary bottle of holy water on the seat of each pilgrim to drink on board.

OWEN WILSON UPDATE
Police were called to "You, Me. and Dupree" star Owen Wilson's home because of an attempted suicide report, according to a police log of weekend calls. The log doesn't indicate who made the call Sunday, but lists "attempted suicide" as the reason for it. Meanwhile Variety is reporting that Owen Wilson is dropping out of the ensemble comedy, ``Tropic Thunder.''

BO DIDDLY HEART ATTACK
Bo Diddley was in stable condition at a Florida hospital after suffering a heart attack, his publicist said Tuesday. The 78 year old singer-guitarist complained of dizziness and nausea during a routine medical checkup Friday. His publicist said Didddley suffered a heart attack after being taken to North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville.

ANGELINA JOLIE UN AMBASSADOR
Angelina Jolie visited Iraq on Tuesday to meet with refugees and U. S. troops. She is a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and made the visit during a 2 day trip to the region. She met with displaced Iraqis in Neighboring Syria on Monday before crossing into Iraq for a few hours "to see first hand the plight of hundreds of thousands of families uprooted by the ongoing conflict."

AMY WINEHOUSE PROBLEMS
Rocker Amy Winehouse's father-in-law says fans should stop buying her records to force the singer to seek help for what he called a drug addiction. Giles Fielder-Civil said he believe Winehouse and his son, Blake Fielder-Civil, had used cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin and were in "abject denial" about their problem.

A 54 German woman shocked a thief into submission when she saw him kneeling in her car rummaging through her things. She ran up screaming and pushed him into the car where she held him captive. He was apparently too shocked by her actions to do anything before police arrived.

It's all about frying at this years Big Tex Choice Awards. This year all of the finalists of the state fair concessionaires are offering something from the fryer. Atlanta may enact an ordinance calling "the indecent exposure of undergarments" unlawful. In other words the "fashion" of low slung baggy pants could be on it's way out. A new park that features fly-fishing, scenic trails and a huge bronze eagle was dedicated Saturday in Ridgeway, Colorado, to the late "Gunsmoke" actor Dennis Weaver on 60 acres of land his wife donated to the town. Weaver moved to Ridgway in 1988, building a home made of recycled tires and cans on 175 acres along the Uncompahgre River.

Victoria Beckham has some fashion ideas for you. Does this sound like something from Indiana Jones? An anonymous British man has returned and artifact to Egyptian authorities along with a note saying: his stepfather had suffered a "curse of the Pharaohs" for stealing it, and he felt obliged to return the carving to make amends for his late stepfather and enable his soul to rest in peace. The thief suffered from, paralysis, nausea, unexplained fevers and cancer before dying recently.

In one of this mornings stupid criminal stories, an Israeli woman who shoplifted some shoes was arrested when she returned to the store to return the shoes. Why? Because the crocs didn't fit her son.

The former NFL star guilty of dog fighting is for sale on EBAY. Or at least his NFL player cards, but they're all messed up. Chewed up and slobbered on by one Missouri dog owner. One card is already up to $500. Proceeds to benefit the humane society.

DON'T MESS WITH STRIPPERS
Especially when it comes to money. Damon Armagost spent $600 in thong tucking bucks in April. It turns out the $100 bills were bogus. Strippers at Deja Vu in Nashville were suspicious of the bills and called police. Sentencing on counterfeit charges is November 5th.

CAREFUL WHEN PEELING POTATOES
Olga Mauriello, who lives in a town near Naples, Italy, was peeling potatoes when she realized one of the spuds wasn’t a potato at all. It was a hand grenade from the Second World War. Mauriello had the potatoes soaking in water and wasn’t expecting to find what she did. “If I hadn’t felt its weight, I wouldn’t even have realized that it was a bomb,” Mrs. Muriello said. She called neighbors who then called the police. The police took care of safely detonating the grenade in a park. It is believed the potatoesand the antique grenade---originated in France

Danya Lineberger was driving when she started to feel faint. Bothered by ulcerative colitis, she knew she had to get something to eat, but before she could pull into a restaurant, she passed out. Her 11 year old daughter, sitting in the back seat of the car, leaned forward and grabbed the steering wheel, swerving to miss hitting a car. She wasn’t quite fast enough to avoid a tree, but it caused the car to stop, and no one was hurt.

Of course she never found any. The robber apologized the entire time and will not get to atone for his sins in prison.

REGGIE THE GATOR MAKES A RUN FOR IT...
The Los ANgeles gator who his in an LA lake for two years eluding authorities recently got some new digs at an LA Zoo. Apparently that wasn't good enough. Reggie managed to climb a mesh-covered side wall of the exhibit and crawl several hundred yards. Reggie is now in quarantine, and a mesh overhang has been added to his exhibit to prevent another escape.

CROCODILE HUNTED
David George was riding his horse in the Australian Outback when he was bucked. Dazed, bleeding and confused he got back on his horse only to realize he'd ridden straight into a crocodile swamp. After falling into a crocodile nest he was spooked and climbed a tree where two crocodiles stalked hime for an entire week, thinking they had come across an easy meal. The alarm was raised when the rancher failed to return home and a search was launched, involving the army, police, emergency services crews and Aboriginal trackers. He only had two sandwiches and some water to last the week. On the eighth day he was seen and rescued.

FOOTBALL PLAYERS GOING PINK
In a show of support for breast cancer research, the New MExico State Football team will wear pink socks and pink golf shirts for a September 29th home game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The coache's wife is a cancer survivor and active in the cause.

LATEST CHINA RECALL
An environmental group says it has found vinyl baby bibs from China that have excessive levels of lead. The bibs were found at Toys ``R'' Us stores and Babies ``R'' US Stores in California. It's threatening a lawsuit if not pulled from shelves. The bibs in question are store-brand bibs sold under the Koala Baby and Especially for Baby labels.

Villagers on Papua New Guinea have apologized to decendants of 4 missionaries who were turned into a giant feast in 1878. In April 1878, a Fijian minister and three teachers were killed and eaten by Tolai tribespeople on the Gazelle Peninsula. Thousands attended a reconciliation ceremony over the weekend.

HOW TO BUM OUT A CLOWN
Tell him he can't bring balloons. Barney Baloney said he was told by bosses at a supermarket where he was booked to appear that he should leave his balloons at home because of the potential for allergic reactions.

Cell phone tossing and wife carrying records aren't enough for our Nordic friends. Now they've captured the Karoke record with singers showing up from across the country to sing non-stop for 240 hours besting the Guniess record of 145 hours previously held by the Chinese.

Boothwyn, Pennsylvania is where Felicia Teske was frying up some eggplant for dinner when it hit her. She noticed that one of the seeds in the eggplant spelled out the word, God. Doing what any good Christian would do she immediately put God up for sale on EBAY.

Kasey Kazee walked into Shamrock liquors in Ashland, Kentucky with his face wrapped with duct tape. Known as the Duct Tape Bandit he didn't know that the store manager, Bill Steele had some duct tape of his own. His was wrapped around a wooden club. Mr. Steel's DUct tape proved to be more powerful thn Mr. Kazee's who ended up in custody after a brief chase.

TAX PROTESTOR
Cary Malchow didn't like his property tax bill at all, so he figured he's make a point. It took 3 cashiers 75 minutes to count the proceeds from the Muncie, Indiana man's tax deposit. The $12,656.07 came in in bags of change and $1 bills. It's estimated the state lost $1,135.90 in interest earned because they were so busy counting they never made the day's deposit.

PANTS SUIT UPDATE
Roy Pearson who filed the $54 Million lawsuit over a lost pair of pants and lost is appealing. The Korean cleaners had even agreed to drop their request for $87,000 in legal fees, but The Administrative judge insists on pursuing his case.

MISSISSIPPI MONKEY MAKES A RUN FOR IT....AGAIN Oliver has escaped from Tupelo's Buffalo Park and Zoo for the second time in two weeks. Park employees noticed the monkey's cage open Monday, and the lock on the ground. It's his thrid escape in 6 weeks and apparently he has a hankering for the local country club, that's where he's been found each time. ##########################

DEPUTY DUI
A sheriff's deputy in Elko, Nevada pulled over a woman for DUI. Before he could administer the portable breathalyzer, she took off. He pulled her again. This time he called for backup. He then left the scene when the other officer showed up. The suspected DUI was his wife, also a deputy.

IT'S JUST A HAT
A trucker is in an Iowa hospital. He was on I-80 when his hat blew off in a gust of wind. He chased the hat right into oncoming traffic where he was hit by an SUV that then sideswiped his semi. Broken wrist, dislocated shoulder. He'll survive, no other injuries.

LOST AT SEA (PART ONE)
Neal Mello went for a late night swim in the buff off a New York pier. When he didn't show up a friend called authorities, who spent 6 hours searching for the man with helicopters and boats. HE was found hiding near the pier where he originally jumped into the water apparently to embarrassed come out of the water in the altogether. Or as authorities put it: "without the benefit of a swimsuit".

LOST AT SEA(Part deux)
I'm guessing alcohol was involved. A man jumped from his boat in Chesapeake Bay to relieve himself. Next thing ya know he's being swept away by the current. He was found about 45 minutes later.

OJ BOOK COMING OUT AFTER ALL
The long surpressed book is coming out with the help of the Goldman family. "The family and publisher have pledged to leave Simpson's manuscript entirely intact, but they will also add key commentary. Last month, a federal bankruptcy judge awarded rights to the book to Goldman's family to help satisfy a $38 million wrongful death judgment against the former football star. A portion of proceeds go to the Ron Goldman Justice Foundation.

An Estonian man is in jail after being arrested for driving a car even though he's blind. Last week he was arrested when he was seen weaving. A 16 year old in the car was giving him directions. Alcohol was invloved and now police want the car confiscated and to keep him in jail for 30 days.

That is not a man eating shark in the water. Britain has been all a buzz about a Great White Shark offshore. It's been in all the papers. It turns out it was a hoax. Doorman Kevin Keeble sparked the media feeding frenzy when he sent pictures to his local paper of a shark he photographed during a fishing trip to South Africa, jokingly claiming the photo was taken near the surfing resort of Newquay.

A You Tube video got a half a million views. The video showed a man taped slowly circling a store, stealing a laptop computer, slipping the computer into his overcoat and stepping out of the store. The video dubbed to the Pink Pnather theme spurred at least one tip to police, who found their way to Dawson Anthony Bliss, 50, was convicted of theft in a New Zealand Court on Thursday after pleading guilty.

There's the Ugly Butt Crack contest and the Mattress Chuck which involves chucking a mattress from the back of a moving pickup for distance, but this year apparently they were also going for a record in arrests. 54 people were arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct. Nah! Not at Redneck Games.

WHEN BEAVERS ATTACK
A Swedish grandmother had to seek treatment after abeaver attacked her with it's tale while she was taking a leiseurely swim in a rivernear Stockholm.

TOO MUCH DOLLY PARTON
A British woman has had her stereo confiscated in Leeds, England after continuously blasting Dolly Parton hits at top volume. Diane Duffin's decibel busting episodes didn't just go 9-5, no but for months on end the city council slapped a noise abatement order on the mother of four and with police confiscated her music system, televisions, DVD players, a computer and games consoles as well as a number of compact discs and games.

MONKEY ON THE LOOSE. ......OVER
Police in Madison, Wisconsin were hot on the trail of a diaper wearing monkey in this college town after it escaped from it's owner. They had come to take the monkey into custody, for medical tests after it bit a woman on the thumb. The monkey was captured after 7 hours on the lam and remains in custody.

THIS IS COOL. NO REALLY
An art store in Philadelphia is offering customers a cool down. When they get to the store they're offered a cool towel scented with vanilla to put on the back of their necks to stay cool in the summer heat. Some people stop into the store with no intention of buying art. They are looking for the towels and do it everyday.

THAT DRESS LOOKS LIKE MINE
A new law is being proposed to fight the theft of dress design. Senator, CHuck Schumer will introduce a bill that carries a $250,000 fine for copying another's design ideas. The issue came to the fore by Narciso Rodriguez who designed the wedding dress worn by the late Carolyn Bessette Kennedy in 1996. He says when eight million copies of the dress flooded the market, it was very harmful to his business.

AVOIDING THE BREATH TEST
A 19 year old Ontario man didn't want to take a breath test after being pulled for suspected DUI, so he did what any "alleged" drunk driver might do. Started eating his socks and then his shirt. Police tried to intervene so no more clothing would be harmed in this arrest but a scuffle ensued. The fun continued in the cell when the man put his head in the toilet refusing to emerge for a breath test. Charges for refusing are the same as if he'sd been convicted.

HOW NOT TO ROB A STORE....
We don't want to help in the commission of a crime, but if you've decided to make the jump to armed robbery, DON'T, we repeat DON'T lay your gun on the counter during the commission of your felony. That's what a robber in Albany, New York did. As he was stuffing the cash he got from the clerk into his pants he set down the gun, which the clerk quickly picked up and pointed the other way, at the criminal. He fled. He was later identified and captured, and charged.

THERE'S A ROO ON THE LOOSE
A Kangaroo running wild isn't unusual in some parts of the world, but along US 90 in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi? Yep. Police thought it was a joke until they had about 5 reports in a row, so now they're on the hunt for what is assumed to be an escaped pet.

HOT ON THE TRAIL OF BURLARS
It wasn't bread crumbs but it was close. Police responded to a break in at a convenience store and quickly found the trail of the culprits. They followed that trail of candy wrappers, chips and cigars to three boys and a girl, ages 15 and 16, found about a-quarter mile away.

A veterinary surgeon in the Ukraine has been decalred world's tallest man by Guinees Book Of World Records. Leonid Stadnyk of Ukraine who was found to be eight feet 5.5 inches.

The photo session for Greenpeace is scheduled for August 18 and 19 somewhere in the Swiss Alps.

Nora's owner, Betsy Alexander, says the gray tabby has been tickling the ivories daily since she was a year old. "She has Beethoven's personality," adds Alexander. He was strutting his stuff on the catwalk. A 3 yr. old canine named Riggs fetched first place in Drake University's 28th annual Drake Relays Beautiful Bulldog Contest. The 68 pound pooch will serve as school mascot and appear at sporting events during his reign. Riggs beat out 50 other contestants, including runner-up Porterhouse.

DIGG THE DUGGARS
This is one BIG family. In a time when large families are no longer the norm, the Duggars in Arkansas are unique. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar welcomed their 17th child, and seventh daughter, into the world Thursday. Less than 30 minutes after giving birth, the Duggars already were talking of having more. "We'd love to have more," Michelle said, adding that the girls are outnumbered seven to 10 in the family. "We love the ruffles and lace."

DON'T MESS WITH MAMMA!
A Sicilian mother took away her 61-year-old son's house keys, cut off his allowance and hauled him to the police station. Why? For staying out too late. Mamma brought in the police to convince this blockhead" to behave properly. Many Italian men live at home well into their 30's. SCHNITZEL STEPHAN IS BEHIND BARS
Schnitzel Stephan earned his nickname by running out on his bill at 64 restaurants over the past year. How the 350 pound man "ran" away we're not sure, but he would routinely order lamb chops, steak or Viennese schnitzel along with several beers. When the bill came, he either ran for the door or told the waiter he had no money. He's been sentenced to 18 months in jail where we assume the food is free. His cellmates include Funnel Cake Jake and Shitake Sam.

THIS BAR STINKS
A British pub company says artificial scents are set to be pumped into British pubs to mask the smell of stale beer, sweat and other odors previously camouflaged by cigarette smoke. Scents being experimented with are freshly cut grass, ocean breezes and leather.

Zoo officials in Tupelo, Missisippi are asking for the public's assistance in apprehending an escapee. A white faced Capuchin Monkey figured out how to unlock his enclosure and is now on the run. Oliver freed himself at about 8 a.m. and led park staff on a chase through the park's trail system before eventually eluding them.

Leonardo Molina was in a Buenos Aires, Agentina operationg room, laid out on the table for a routine appondectomy, when all of the sudden. Power outage. The surgeons, understandably don't like using scalpels in the dark. Apperently no emergency lights, but there were cell phones. A family member grabbed them up from folks and cell phone light was all that was needed to complete the operation.

Who's this kid play with during recess? An Indonesian boy Alen, is the sole pupil at the state primary school of Mapia on a Pacific Ocean island off Papua province's north coast. The teacher (and principal) says when he got there to teach there were only 5 students. 4 have moved away now he has just the one six year old boy to teach, Alen.

FOOD FIGHT!
This is serious from Delaware. Christiana Mall closed early Friday night after a massive food fight. State police said about 1,000 youths were involved in the melee in the food court, throwing food, yelling profanities and getting in scuffles. Several merchants locked their stores, and police evacuated the mall.

WAYNE AND GARTH WOULD BE PROUD
The 2007 Air Guitar Championships are coming in Septemeber in Oulu, Finland. Scored similar to Olympics we thought we'd look into some of the specifics for air guitaring:

Technical merit — how much the performance looks like the real playing, including accurate reproduction of all fretwork, chords, solos and technical moves.
Stage presence — a charisma of rock star, the ability to rock, lack of stage fright and power to drive thousands of listeners; involves doing guitar moves and other emotional demonstrations.
Airness — the most subjective criterion, as "presentation" in figure skating — how much the performance was an object of art by itself, not only a simulation of playing guitar.

By the way Japanese inventors have developed technology similar to the WII that allows for players to actually create sound depending on their moves.

Yesterday we had the story of the $1.9 Million dime. Today it's New York city selling off foreign currency found in parking meters to make some bucks. NY makes about $90 Million each year from parking meters. They're holding an auction for the 500 pounds of coincs. What's the most used foreign coin in NY city? The Greek Drachma.

Merrimack, New Hampshire officials are fostering a citizen uprising of sorts agains state toll roads. August 27th is "Toll Revolt Day" and the town officials are encouraging citizens to pay their tolls with pennies to protest tolls, which they say place an unfair burden on community residents who have to pay $1.50 just to get across town.

HOLLYWOOD BIRTH CONTROL
Hollywood officials have a plan for the over population of pigeons in the city. Birth control pills will be integrated into pigeon feed on special rooftop feeders.

In Plainville, Ohio, Municipal Judge Michael Cicconetti, known for dispensing unusual sentences, has ordered three men found guilty of soliciting to carry signs confessing to their crimes, while wearing Chicken Suits. The sign and costume refer to the "World Famous Chicken Ranch," a prostitution house in Nevada where sex-for-money is legal. Painesville borrowed the costume from a woman who wears it to cheer patients at a local hospice.

A Chinese has filed suit against the fast food giant over the company's use of English, and not Chinese on menus. He says it violates Chinese lawas for the right to know, even though the menus have BOTH English and Chinese languages and the staff speaks Chinese.
