Varitek told reporters he later handed the ball to closing pitcher Jonathan Papelbon, who hurled the final strike. But Papelbon, denies any knowledge of the ball's whereabouts.

RING LOST THEN FOUND
Jessica Spinks was swimming off the South Pacific island of Saipan during her U. S. navy service when she realized she had lost her high school class ring. That was in 2000. Seven years later, scuba diver Greg Moretti happened to find the ring at the bottom of the sea. It had Spinks name engraved on it, so he sent it to the school district. They couldn't locate Spinks, so shared the story with the media. That's when Jessica heard about it. "It's so cool that it was found," said Jessica's mom, Helen.
